Twist out vs wash and go

Here is an example of my hair twisted out. I actually like my hair this way but in order to maintain the style I find that I have to retwist every night. I am a wild sleeper! The pic in orange is a wash and go. I prefer this style because it is so easy and I love the volume I get. I also put some random pics up of baby girl.

Finished Product

Sooo...once again I am less than impressed with my braid out. I think I just happen to prefer wash and gos. But I'm hearing that more curlies retain length with stretched styles like braid outs and twist outs.

Mini Twist Take Down

So today I decided to take down my mini twists despite the fact that they were only in for 1 week. My hair itched something terrible! So i am attempting to do a braid out...I have never done a successful braid out. I braided my hair in 12 braids so hopefully this will be a good combination. I will post pics of the results on tomorrow. If successful this will be the way i wear my hair on Christmas Day. I am trying really hard to find some styles that will give me at least 3 day hair.

S/N I'm not used to showing pictures of myself "undone" because I have never found myself to be photogenic, but all in the name of helping someone else on their natural journey I will reveal these in process pictures. LOL!

Nia

so this is my daughter, nia. she is really my inspiration for sticking with my natural journey. i want her to accept her hair the way it is naturally. the best way i feel to accomplish this task is to be her role model. by experiencing the intricacies of my own hair i feel better equipped to handle any and all questions or concerns regarding her hair.

Progress

well i started this blog and then neglected it. i am going to attempt to make this work. there are numerous hairstyles that i create on my daughter nia and myself. my husband keeps telling me you should make a site like those that you are always looking at. natural hair blogs are where i spend most of my time so it is only fitting that i get in on the action. thanks for visiting.
